Similar to many of his rivals, Andrew Luker started racing at the tender age of five and was ready to go pro when he turned 16 in 2014. That year, he only just dipped his toe into the Progressive American Flat Track waters; competing in the GNC2 series finale and coming away with two points thanks to a 17th-place debut. That modest first go did little to prepare the field for what was to come in his first full season in 2015. Luker came out swinging, winning the season-opening DAYTONA I Short Track. He followed that up with four additional top-ten finishes and a ninth-place GNC2 championship ranking. The Californian did it again in 2016, winning at the Circuit of the Americas and finishing as runner-up at the Peoria TT en route to another top-ten placement in the final GNC2 championship standings. Luker then tried his hand at the premier Mission SuperTwins class in a limited capacity in 2017 and earned himself a top-ten finish at the DAYTONA TT. He stepped back down to Parts Unlimited AFT Singles duty in 2018 and immediately returned to the top five. Luker ran a heavy workload in 2019, juggling Parts Unlimited AFT Singles and Mission Production Twins responsibilities and flashed potential in both. Over the course of the ‘19 season, Luker logged a combined ten top tens (five in each class) with a best finish of fourth coming in 450cc action at the Laconia ST. Luker then split his focus between the Mission SuperTwins and Parts Unlimited AFT Singles classes in 2020. He ranked 12th in the former with a best finish of 12th (twice) and 16th in the latter, including a fifth-place finish in the season finale at DAYTONA. He then added another Parts Unlimited AFT Singles top ten to his record at the Atlanta Super TT in 2021. Despite making only a couple appearances across Mission SuperTwins and Parts Unlimited AFT Singles action in 2022, Luker showed the field he still had world-class speed with a top-ten result in the premier class at the Sacramento Mile. It was a similar story in 2023, where Luker notched up a pair of sevenths in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles double opener in Daytona and five total points-paying finishes in a limited schedule. While quick in all disciplines, Luker is generally at his best when the tracks get tight and bumpy and the action is compressed and chaotic. He’s proven to be a podium threat whenever the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles competitors line up for a Short Track and has been nearly as capable at the TTs.
